Peace For Ibrahim is a campaign aimed at restoring a 35-year-old Peace House in the heart of Jerusalem.
The Peace House is a crucial hub for social action through collaboration and connection and we need your help! Why? In the unjust and oppressive legal situation in East Jerusalem, Israel is not giving building permits to Palestinians, thus defining simple people like Ibrahim as criminals. Ibrahim is now being threatened with imprisonment. |
Our documentary film crew recently had a heart-warming and life-changing experience while staying at the Peace House of Ibrahim Abu El-Hawa.
Being truly welcomed can be hard to find these days. This, however, is the ethos at the very core of the Peace House, as witnessed by us and thousands before us.
The house is sustained only through donations made by travelers passing through, who contribute what they can to the Peace House donation box. Travelers, peacemakers and locals who cross his threshold are greeted with a hearty “WELCOME! COME IN! EAT!”
Everyone, regardless of religion or nationality, can come to eat, sleep, and collaborate under the same roof - evidence that people can live peacefully together.
To save and restore the Peace House, and to keep Jerusalem's senior peace activist out of Prison, we must act now !

Ibrahim Abu El-Hawa is a Peacemaker living in Jerusalem. He has spent his entire life being a walking symbol of hope, peace and generosity.
Since over 35 years he is welcoming people of all faiths and walks of life to eat, sleep and collaborate in his open House, giving shelter and warmth in midst of a flaring conflict. The Peace House is a living example for peaceful coexistence and has always been run solely on donations.
In spite of all his goodwill, Ibrahim is facing a crisis: In the unjust and oppressive legal situation in East Jerusalem,
Israel is not giving building permits to Palestinians, thus defining simple people like Ibrahim as criminals.
Ibrahim is now being threatened with Prison.
He simply wanted to enlarge his family home to make space for his children and grandchildren, but ended up with a court trial lasting for many months and a final ruling forcing him to pay 288,000 NIS (75,000 $) in portions of 5,300 NIS (1392 $) every month. Ibrahim is a pensioner and not able to pay this fine plus the bills for the Peace House.
So the Peace Activist is facing three years of prison every time he cannot pay three payments, according to the courts ruling.
If we do not act now, the Peace House could be shut down, and Jerusalem's "Ambassador of Peace" might be in Prison.
Ibrahim lives to give, regardless of religion, culture and faith...
He has dedicated his life and his savings to this philosophy, working tirelessly and speaking to millions worldwide.
Please SHARE the story about Ibrahim and his open House and DONATE to help him get out of this crises which already made him suffer a heart attack.
With your SUPPORT we can make the Peace House thrive again as a hub for change and as an example of peaceful coexistence.
May Peace prevail on Earth
In eternal Gratitude
A dear Friend of Ibrahim
